Questions people ask us
What does "refurbished" mean at Spectrum?
A pre-owned phone that has been tested, repaired where needed, restored to factory settings with default software, wiped of all previous data, tested again and given a cosmetic grade. It is not simply a used phone that has been cleaned.
How do you grade phones?
Two things are graded separately: how the phone looks (Premium, A, B, C) and whether everything works. A cosmetic grade never hides a functional fault; devices with faults are sold separately as repair or parts units. See the grading scale ›
What do L1 to L4 mean?
They are repair levels. L1 is test, clean and erase with no disassembly. L2 replaces modules such as the display, battery or port. L3 is component repair on the logic board. L4 is chip-level work: BGA reballing, CPU or NAND transplants and no-power recovery. Spectrum does all four in-house. See the levels ›
Where do the phones come from?
Strategic partnerships with major marketplaces such as Flipkart and Amazon, our own retail trade-in counters, corporate fleet refreshes and other vetted sources. Every device is IMEI-checked before it is accepted.
Is my data safe if I sell my phone to you?
Yes. Devices are reset to factory settings and previous-owner data is erased before the phone moves to refurbishment. Back up your data and sign out of your Apple or Google account before you come in.
